Tree Lighting Cancelled!

Due to the storm, the Tree Lighting event scheduled for 12/20/09 has been cancelled.

September 11 Remembrance

flagThe eighth remembrance of the events of September 11, 2001 will take place at Borders Farm Friday, September 11 at 6:00 p.m. at the Farm, 31 North Road, Foster.

Boy Scout Troop 101, Foster, will perform a flag ceremony.  Kimberly Brayton, vocalist, will perform and lead the singing of patriotic songs, and Senator Leo Blais will be the speaker.  Questions, please call 647-5689.

October 5, 2009 Annual Meeting and Pot Luck Dinner

The Borders Farm Preservation, Inc., annual meeting is current scheduled for October 5, 2009, at 6:00 p.m.  The meeting will be at 31 North Road, and is open to all members.  Many members will be bringing yummy food to the event and everyone is welcome to do the same.

At the meeting, there will be annual reports on topics such as finances, garden, fundraising, volunteers, and others.

Please use the comment section below to coordinate is needed for food items, etc.

National Register of Historic Places

National Historic RegisterBFPI is proud to announce that Borders Farm was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 29, 2009.

This listing culminates a long term effort by Charles Borders and the BFPI directors to achieve the excellent recognition.

August 22, 2009 Garden Volunteers

DSC03099We need volunteers on August 22 for the community garden. Please let us know if you can make it.

We’ll be meeting at the garden starting at 2:00 p.m. to perform general garden maintenance.

So far we have contributed 35 pounds of broccoli to the RI Food Bank and this week we will be contributing cabbage.  Help us help those in need.
